My mother Phyllis Higginson Ashby passed away 13 February 2006. She wrote of her testimoney in September 1994:
I can't remember a time that I did not have a testimony of the truth and fullness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My mother taught me by her reading, I especially remember her reading From Plow Boy to Prophet. I really felt the spirit and know Joseph Smith was a true and great Prophet, even at my young age.
I believe in the power of prayer and have had my prayers answered many times. The older I get, the more I rely on the power of prayer to help me through each day. I love my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ."
Mother was just six weeks short of reaching her 90th year when she passed on.
